Ojstrica House was awarded the Green Key certificate in 2022. This has made it a part of only 3,700 tourist establishments worldwide, which can boast about this prestigious environmental label.
The Green Key Certificate is the leading standard of excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainability in the tourism industry. It signifies the commitment of companies to adhere to the strict criteria set by the International Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in certified establishments. The Green Key Ecolabel assures all guests that they are making a direct contribution to protecting the environment by choosing a certified tourism establishment. Establishments maintain high environmental standards through rigorous documentation and frequent inspections.
How do we contribute to the conservation of the Logar Valley and Mother Earth in our house?
From November 2020, the Ojstrica House awaits you in a renovated style. Since the Plesnik family strives to keep the Logar Valley as it is given by the nature and our ancestors – wild, natural and clean – we have carried out an energy renovation of the building with the help of European funding. We heat the house with a modern wood-burning biomass stove (using wood chips from the nearby forest), installed a heat recovery system and completely replaced the woodwork. We think and act green for a green future. There are many more ideas for sustainable business, living and residing. Step by step, we will continue to put our bold plans into practice.

In partnership with local and organic suppliers, we always try to serve delicious meals to our guests, made with locally grown, organic ingredients.

We have reduced light pollution by replacing conventional outdoor lighting with more energy-saving and veiled lighting.
We ensure the controlled use of water
Although there is plenty of water in the Logar Valley, we are aware that every drop counts. Ojstrica House is supplied with delicious spring water from the nearby Ivovec spring. Therefore, dear guests, we recommend serving your tap water in the glass jugs and glasses available in the rooms, without using plastic bottles.
We are reducing electricity and heat consumption
With your help, our caring guests, we are reducing the consumption of water, electricity, heating, and detergents. That’s why we change sheets every 4 days, while the towels are changed according to the guest’s preferences and needs. We use organic cleaning products in the house and organic cosmetics, which is available for our guests.
